LOOKING AHEAD (from Pastor Twietmeyer's newsletter message):
"We are tempted to think that we are missing out on something. The world seems to be having a lot more fun than we are. They have more money, more romance, more things, more fame, more fortune. They have the meat pots and all we seemingly have is this worthless bread. But don’t let the world fool you! You are the rich one! You are the laborer who will be paid the wages of faith. You are the righteous one who will be delivered from Sodom. You are the child of God who has been saved through the Red Sea Waters of your baptism. You are not missing out on anything."

"Repent of your love for the world and replace it with your love for Christ. For Jesus Christ is the only one who truly missed out on something. He was the only one who can truly say that He was slighted. Although He was righteous and knew no sin, He became sin for us. He forsook all that He had and was forsaken on the cross by the Father. If we have the love of Christ in our hearts, then we are truly missing out on nothing. God be praised."

Yours in Him,

Rick Krueger, Parish Assistant
